When a medical practice struggles to fill its schedule, the problem is not always a lack of patient demand. Calls may go unanswered, online booking may be difficult, appointment information may be unclear, or patients may encounter unnecessary friction between choosing a provider and arriving for their visit. I have spent nearly 20 years working within healthcare environments and learning how those everyday operational details affect both patients and practices.

My work focuses on healthcare technology, patient access, scheduling, and appointment-management workflows. I help practices think more clearly about how patients find care, communicate with the office, schedule appointments, receive information, and move through the administrative side of their healthcare experience.

My perspective is grounded in firsthand experience across patient care, medical administration, and clinical support. I began my healthcare career as a Patient Care Assistant, supporting patients with daily care, recording vital signs, assisting with medical procedures, coordinating information from admission through discharge, and helping manage unit records and communications.

I later worked as a Medical Office Associate, where I handled patient calls, supported emergency triage, managed check-ins and check-outs, scheduled and cancelled appointments, generated reports, and maintained patient information using Epic Cadence and Allscripts. This experience gave me a practical understanding of how much a practice's scheduling systems and front-office processes influence patient access.

As an ophthalmic technician, I worked on the clinical side of the patient journey, performing vision testing and diagnostic imaging and working closely with patients and providers every day. That experience strengthened my understanding of how clinical care, technology, communication, and practice operations must work together.

Today, I draw on that combined experience when writing about healthcare practice growth, patient scheduling, reputation, intake, and the operational gaps that can prevent prospective patients from becoming booked and returning patients. Along the way I've worked with scheduling and practice-management platforms including Nextech, SimplePractice, and Vagaro, alongside the EHR systems above. My goal is to make healthcare technology and practice-management topics useful, practical, and easier to apply in real-world medical and dental offices.
